The smart deck behind your matches
For the detail on each popularity tier, see how we sort the names.
The most common complaint about name apps is always the same: they throw the whole list in your face, at random, and you swipe forever without ever agreeing on anything. Baby Bee is the opposite. With nearly 25,000 names in the United States and more than 10,000 in Portugal, no card shows up by chance. The order is deliberate, and it is what makes a couple find each other fast instead of getting lost.
You both start in the same place
The deck serves the popular names first, then the common ones, and only much later the rare ones. However long the list is, each of your first swipes lands in the same small group of familiar names. You may never have talked about names, but the first cards you each see came from the same handful. That is where your taste overlaps, and it is why the match comes early.
But never in the same order
Within each tier the order is shuffled, and each person gets their own. You are not watching one synced list, card for card: you walk through the same group, each in your own way. That is what keeps the game feeling fresh and yours, not like a spreadsheet.
And the deck learns as you swipe
Here is the clever part. When the person beside you falls for a name, the deck notices. Quietly, it slips a few of those names higher in your pile, so you see them sooner. Only a few, and mixed in, so it still reads as your own random deck: you would never spot the seam. It is a subtle nudge that puts the names you are both most likely to say yes to in front of you, faster.
And a match is not only Sim
A full match is when you both say yes. But we also keep the near-misses: if one says yes and the other lands on maybe, or you both hesitate on the same name, that shows up on its own, as a softer agreement to talk over. Often it is from those shared hesitations that the name comes.
So, will you match?
You will, and quickly. A couple with ordinary taste usually gets their first match within their first twenty swipes each. Even the fussy ones get there, they just need a few more cards. The huge list is never the obstacle, because nobody starts lost in the middle of it. You both start at the front, where the names are familiar and opinions come fast, with the deck working quietly to bring you together.
