Story
In the Old Testament, Noah is the patriarch who builds the ark and saves his family and the animals from the Great Flood, later receiving the rainbow covenant from God. The name came into English use largely after the Protestant Reformation, becoming common among the Puritans, and rose strongly again from the 1970s onward.
